In our world today, it is very easy to get caught up into different things and into different situations. I feel that the true purpose of face book is a great idea. Friends are able to communicate when they are not in the same school, neighborhood, city, or even country. Facebook offers people the opportunity to explore the world around them and to catch up on recent events and activities. Although this may all sound good for the common person, they do not realize that everyone has the capability to look at your profile, unless if it is completely private of course. Many students have posted certain comments on their wall or profile that might affect their image or hurt someone’s feelings. In certain situations, teenagers find themselves having a tough time connecting to the real world and they rely on Facebook to fulfill this desire. However, some teenagers go above and beyond what is considered to be etiquette. Just to bring in a phrase from Kesha, “Got that drunk text on, I’ll forget it in the morn.” We all know that drinking is prevalent amongst high school students and certain things are said when teenagers are typing their emotions instead of thinking about them first. There have been many cases where someone forgot that they posted something completely unnecessary or cruel or harmful to another person because they may be under the influence. Others post pictures and videos of their poorly made decisions and allow the entire world to see. Some things are meant to be seen, while others are meant to be concealed. With all of this documentation, we feel that it is necessary to record all that occurs in our lives. With the new technology that floods our society today, students, teachers and parents are able to go on to the internet and post certain things that may not be acceptable across the globe. As I stated previously, certain things should be left unsaid. I’m not saying that all teenagers abuse the right to communicate with the world around them, because Facebook’s purpose is very creative and beneficial for many. It is those who don’t realize how their words may affect another that truly turns people away from the usage of Facebook because they don’t want to be caught up within the drama and problems that occurs everyday.
I agree with what you say in this post David. You make a valid point in saying that Facebook is beneficial depending on how you use it. I feel that more people turn to this social networking site to communicate with friends and family. Unfortunately, people abuse this site by bullying other people either through a wall post, a status, or even a picture comment. Many people do not realize that when you apply for a job, they look at their potential workers Facebook to see their picture and their posts. It is important that inappropiate pictures and statuses are not posted. Even though someones Facebook is set to private, there is always a way to get around the privacy settings. Therefore, the key with Facebook is to keep what you say and do to a minimum to avoid drama and trouble.

I agree with your first few opening sentences about how Facebook is a great form of communication. Facebook helps me stay in connect with my family down south and in California. We get to see each others pictures and get to catch up on things going on in our lives since we do not get to see each other often. I agree when you say that how teens use Facebook to connect to the real world. Some people use Facebook as like a guard or a wall to say and get out what they need to get out but they would never say it to the persons face. I agree when you talk about posting of inappropriate and unnecessary pictures that everyone can see. I touched base on this subject in my post as well about how young teens abuse to rights of Facebook and post ridiculous status’, notes, and pictures. I agree that some things are meant to be private and kept from the rest of the world. Most older people do not abuse Facebook and use it as the correct form of communication. But there are young teens who use Facebook to get everything and anything out in the open as a way to seek attention. I agree with your last sentence that some people post status and comment on other profiles using hurtful words and they really do not know that their words can really harm others. One hurtful post or comment towards someone can lead to serious matters such as that person hurting themselves or someone else.
Overall I agree with your post about Facebook, very good David!
